Six Flags Fiesta Texas, America’s favorite show park, opened an all-new Lone Star Nights Laser and Fireworks Celebration over Memorial Day weekend in 2011. The high-tech show is illuminated with enhanced 3D video projection, custom pyrotechnics and four of Lightwave International’s Prism Series Projectors. Broadcast on a football field-sized section of the park’s quarry walls, the new celebratory storyline is a salute to the Lone Star State of today, highlighting the various cultures, places and people that make Texas unique.
Lone Star Nights incorporates innovative new technology, with nine computers powering the show compared to three used in the previous production. The new, upgraded technology, including new video projectors and lasers, offer 3D special effects and “video mapping,” which creates a more vivid and visually stimulating display. The enhanced capabilities bring amazing images to life. The show features four of Lightwave’s innovative Prism Series projectors: two full-color units projecting images on the quarry wall and one deep blue and one gold laser providing dazzling aerial effects. The laser graphics are deeply integrated with the video projection to create amazing combined images. The aerial lasers also are utilized to project messages to park guests on the opposite quarry at closing time. “This is a magnificent new production that our guests are going to want to see again and again,” said Six Flags Fiesta Texas Park President Martin Bozer. “The enhanced technology creates a full-sensory display that truly celebrates all things Texas.”
